Grandholm Dental Clinic is in the beautiful redevelopment of Grandholm Village within Bridge of Don. The Old Crombie Mills Building provided an excellent setting to create a spacious & modern Practice with state-of-the-art equipment & technology combined with the charm of the original 19th century building which has been thoughtfully restored to house the Practice.
We offer all our patients an extensive list of services under both NHS and Private care.

Meet the Team
Principal Dentist Mehdi A Shams, BDS MSc MFGDP (UK)
Mehdi graduated from the University of Dundee with a BDS Degree with Commendation in 2005. He worked as a Vocational Trainee and then as a Dental Associate in Perth, before moving to Aberdeen and starting up Grandholm Dental Clinic in 2008. He began restoring dental implants soon after VT in 2007 and in 2010 completed the first ever year-long implant dentistry course by the ITI in the UK and started placing implants.
Mehdi has always had a passion for passing on his knowledge and in 2010 began training new graduates and overseas Dentists in General Practice as a Dental Vocational Trainer which then extended to Dental Therapy Training, a role which he carries out to this day. He has a special interest in adult cosmetic tooth alignment and dental implantology. He successfully completed MSc in Dental Implantology Degree at the University of Central Lancashire with Merit in 2017 and is a Member of the College of General Dentistry. His practice in dental implants includes conventional implant therapy, bone and tissue grafting, sinus and crestal lifts as well as teeth in a day such as TeethXpress.

Associate dentist
Lisa qualified from the University of Aberdeen in 2013 and worked initially in rural Aberdeenshire. She joined Grandholm Dental clinic in 2017 as an associate dentist. I enjoy providing routine care both NHS and private to my patients, Lisa finds it very rewarding getting to know my patients and their families over the years and gaining their trust. Lisa sees many anxious patients and it gives me great satisfaction to see people gradually become more comfortable coming in for exams and treatment.
Prior to gaining her BDS Lisa also completed a BSc in biomedical sciences and a PhD in pharmacology. During her years at university she worked as a carer for 9 years and an auxiliary nurse with NHS Grampian. This experience has given her a greater understanding of the challenges that people with disabilities or complex medical needs can face.
